Dialogue is best way to solve Kosovo conflict: Dalai Lama

BUENOS AIRES, April 8 (AFP) - Tibet's spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, said here Thursday dialogue is the "best method" to end the Kosovo war, while violence will play no part in solving the Balkan conflict.

"My fundamental position is that violence is not the way to resolve problems," the Dalai Lama, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989, stated. "I am opposed to this violence in Kosovo," he noted at a press conference.

"The best method is dialogue," he said, adding "we need more time and political will (during talks) because problems solve themselves through dialogue."

The Dalai Lama, who is spending four days in Argentina, arrived here from Brazil.
